LIMITED IN OFFICE SESSIONS NOW AVAILABLE
While most parent counseling sessions are provided virtually throughout Missouri, limited in office appointments are also available at our Chesterfield office for those who prefer meeting face to face.
In office sessions provide the same personalized guidance and evidence based support while allowing parents the opportunity to meet directly with a therapist in a comfortable and private setting. Whether you are seeking support for parenting challenges, family communication, or helping your child through emotional or behavioral concerns, both virtual and in office counseling provide effective options based on your family’s needs and preferences.
SESSION FREQUENCY
Every family is unique, and there is no one size fits all approach to counseling. Some parents benefit from meeting weekly while working through more immediate concerns, while others may choose biweekly or monthly sessions once progress has been established.
During your first few appointments, your therapist will help determine a schedule based on your family’s goals, current stressors, and the level of support needed. As your confidence grows and new parenting skills become part of everyday life, sessions can be adjusted to meet your changing needs.
EVIDENCE BASED PARENTING SUPPORT
At Amy Brown Counseling, our therapists use evidence based approaches that are tailored to each family’s unique circumstances. Parent counseling focuses on practical strategies that parents can begin using immediately while also addressing the underlying emotional and behavioral patterns that contribute to ongoing family challenges.
Depending on your family’s needs, counseling may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), child centered parenting principles, emotional regulation strategies, parent coaching, mindfulness techniques, solution focused therapy, trauma informed care, and other research supported approaches. Our goal is to help parents build lasting skills that strengthen relationships, improve communication, and create positive long term changes for the entire family.
